Before she came to work for SALON ONE in 1989, Nancy spent two years teaching cosmetology at Headlines Academy. She cuts, colors, perms, and waxes, and she loves every minute of it.
Growing up in a military family, Nancy has seen it all. Much of her childhood was spent living abroad in Europe, including the countries of France and England. In fact, she says that living in Europe is the event from her childhood that had the greatest effect on her life, and some of her most memorable childhood memories are of camping with her family in Europe.
Nancy raised two wonderful daughters, one of whom works with Nancy at SALON ONE, who have blessed her with five joyous grandchildren. Nancy’s grandchildren are fortunate too, because their grandmother is one of Rapid City’s best makers of baby blankets. And it’s not just the children in Nancy’s family who benefit, every new SALON ONE baby is welcomed into this world with hand-crafted blanket from Nancy as well.
When Nancy isn’t holding a pair of scissors or sewing needles, she can likely be spotted with a crossword puzzle or a good book.
What “lesson from mom” do you still live by today?
Never argue with a five-year old.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
You are my sunshine.
